Just a day before the next president Noynoy Aquino is inaugurated, a new song composed by Ogie Alcasid and Noel Cabangon will be sang to millions of audiences in the country and around the world.

with song title Bagong Pilipinas, the new song hopes to usher in an era of hope, away from the scandal-riddled and highly unpopular presidency of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

With the collaboration of Ogie Alcasid and Noel Cabangon and musical arrangements by Ryan Cayabyab, I hope to catch a glimpse of the video performance on live tv and possibly free mpe downloads of the inauguration video or live streaming, also in torrents and file sharing networks.

we all know TM is Touch Mobile, marketed as Tatak Mindanao in Mindanao...
I just hope the Globe promo free texts and calls are permanent hehe

Another Text Spam from a Leading HMO

I received a text message again alerting me that i've won something or my SIM card was chosen for a gift

text message from 09326258426 reads:

"A leading HMO company is giving away FREE MEDICAL PRIVILEGE CARD plus a raffle entry for our KITCHEN SHOWCASE DRAW. An additional gift worth P6,800.00 will be awarded if you call NOW! 3865797 and 386022 or SUN NUMBER 09326258426, 09223338700 and look for MS. NICOLE ADVIENTO. Thank you and God Bless! (DISREGARD IFCLAIMED)"

note that this is similar to the Prudentialife text where you need to call ASAP and claim your prize so as not to forfeit your gift. But you need to bring your credit card so they can easily swipe it for instant approval of your health card or insurance policy.

Garmin GPS Routing Algorithm: How Does it Make Decisions on Routes to Take?

I've been trying to search Google for clues on garmin routing algorithm that it uses to make decisions on routes from one point to another.

I used to be an inter-network routing engineer, mostly using BGP and OSPF, to find the optimum path packets should take to reach the destination. GPS routing is no different, I know there are certain parameters to tweak in order to affect the route calculations Garmin GPS (like my Garmin Nuvi 1300) make.

This is not exhaustive but I know these parameters and certain tags matter but I still don't know which ones take precedence over the other in routing decisions:

1. Total distance (probably the single most influential in logic calculations)
2. Highway classification (toll roads, trunk, primary, seconday, tertiary, residential, service road et al)
3. Number of lanes
4. Maximum speed

GPS settings such as Ecoroute (fastest or most fuel efficient route) also count on this one for sometimes, the routes suggested by a GPS unit differs from Garmin Mapsource.

Anyone who can leave a definitive study on Garmin routing algorithm please leave a comment.
